The University of Washington College of the Built Environment invited Designing in Color to facilitate conversations between students, faculty, and staff. DCo was called in to give the College the metrics for change and equitable practices needed to craft a culture of inclusivity in response to a moment of tension on campus earlier in the year, collaborating with NOMAS students, employee listening sessions, and leadership diversity council members and Dean Renee Chang.

This was done through three major workshops, held between October 2023 and January 2024, which were each subsequently documented, summarized, and recorded with in-depth and comprehensive findings reports. Designing in Color welcomed the outpouring of ideas, solutions, and actionable steps from participants, and worked together with the UWCBE to give them the tools they requested to continue their path towards equity with greater confidence.
